EMTB Forums verdict

The 2026 Phase is Orange's first DJI Avinox-powered eMTB, replacing the earlier Shimano EP801 Phase models. It keeps the brand's hallmark UK-built 6061-T6 aluminium monocoque frame, now paired with the Avinox M2S motor putting out a claimed 130Nm (150Nm in Boost) and an 800Wh integrated battery. The single-pivot chassis runs 160mm of travel front and rear on a mixed-wheel (29F/27.5R) layout, positioning it as a do-it-all enduro machine.

Geometry is firmly modern enduro: a 64 degree head angle, 76 degree effective seat angle and reaches of 465mm (M), 480mm (L) and 500mm (XL). Chainstays are a long 448mm across all sizes and the BB sits 343mm from the ground, pointing to a stable, planted feel rather than a flickable one.

Two builds are offered. The RS at £8,250 runs RockShox Zeb Select+ and Super Deluxe Select+ suspension, while the £8,750 Factory steps up to Fox 38 Factory Grip X2 and Float X2 Factory with a Fox Transfer Factory dropper. Both share the same SRAM Eagle 90 Transmission drivetrain, Maven Silver brakes with 200/200mm rotors, Hope Pro 5 hubs and Burgtec cockpit, so the £500 premium buys the suspension and dropper upgrade alone.

What the numbers mean on the trail

Computed from this bike's geometry, spec and build kit — reach, wheelbase, chainstay, head and seat angles, travel, motor, weight and the fork/tyre/brake spec — and worked out per size, because a fixed chainstay can make an S and an XL feel very different.

Size
Descending
76

Slack 64° head angle, 160mm travel and a long 1281mm wheelbase — composed in the chunk, confident when it gets steep, and stable through fast corners.

Playfulness
41

More planted than poppy — better on steep terrain than tight, fiddly singletrack.

Size balance
82

Balanced front-to-rear in L (FC:RC 1.86) — weight sits evenly between the wheels.

Technical climbing
75

Avinox M2S and a steep 76° seat angle keep the weight planted over the front — a proper winch. 1300W of peak power and 150Nm of torque — among the most powerful e-bike motors made.

Best suited toFast, steep, rough tracks — and riders who want maximum composure.

Rewards commitment; it should feel calmer as the speed rises.

Watch out forNo major red flags in the L geometry.

The numbers are well balanced for its category.
